Yeesh, we're not doing very with keeping our website up-to-date. We'll try to do better in the future.

The call for submissions for illiterature. issue seven. a journal of found poetry is now passed. We've had over 70 submissions, and are now in the process of selecting which pieces will be included in the issue. We've been sent some incredible work, so hopefully we can get back to everyone by the middle of May.

In the meantime, we've finished production on andrew topel's new chapbook "framework". Check out our chapbooks page to order a copy.

We've just opened our call for submissions for the seventh issue of illiterature.

Poetry is all around, if you’re looking with the right kind of lens. Newspapers, billboards, anatomy textbooks, receipts, crumpled up grocery lists in the bottom of a shopping cart… these are all sources rife with poetic potential. Look around the room you’re sitting in. There may be a poem hidden somewhere close by. Is there a poem in your sock drawer? Is a poem lost in your recycling bin? Check your pockets, there may be poem stuffed in your wallet. When you’re outside, keep your eyes peeled. A poem may spring up behind on your bus ride to work. You may stoop over and a find a poem in a discarded pack of cigarettes. Maybe your bank teller will recite a poem to by heart…

We’re also hoping for you to uncover some concrete/visual poems.  Take your camera with you, snap a photo of one. Photocopy one. Tear one out of a free movie magazine. Send us your butcher’s business card…

2016 was a productive year for Puddles of Sky Press. With 15 new publications we've reached a new record. Our spring titles included a chapbook of minimalist poems by Guy Ewing, and our new issue of illiterature, a journal of one word poems, continued our series of avante garte publications. Our fall chapbook is an exciting and strange work from Sacha Archer called Dishwashing Event Part Two: Ontario. Our goal of publishing one CHAPOEM a month was realized with the final two by Nicholas Papaxanthos and Alice Burdick.  We've got some exciting things planned for 2017. I admit, I've been pretty lax with my posting here on Puddles of Sky.com, but I've still been plugging away at the monthly Chapoem project for 2016. For each month of the year I'm publishing a chapbook that contains a single poem. I've just finished stapling the 10th publication: ASK by Lillian Necakov.
